An alleged assassination attempt has been reported against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in the Osun State governorship election, Rt. Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, Ph.D., at his polling unit in Ward 4, Unit 13, Ejigbo Local Government Area.

According to reports from the scene, an individual identified as “Big Hammer” allegedly led the attack on the candidate. One of the suspected assailants was reportedly arrested following the incident. The circumstances surrounding the alleged attack and the identity of those arrested could not be independently confirmed at the time of filing this report.

Following the reported incident, the attackers were alleged to have disrupted voting at the polling unit, chased voters away and interfered with election materials.
