The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has directed all its candidates to remain in Nigeria until after the 2027 general election, as the party intensifies preparations for the forthcoming polls.

Naija News reports that Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, announced the directive during the inauguration of the Tinubu-Hamzat Campaign Council at the party’s secretariat on Acme Road, Ogba, Ikeja. He said the decision was aimed at ensuring candidates and party members remained focused on election preparations, campaign activities and voter mobilisation.

Ojelabi urged APC members not to underestimate opposition parties, stressing the need for sustained commitment and unity as the election approaches. He also called on candidates and supporters to conduct campaigns without hatred, thuggery or violence, insisting that peaceful political engagement should remain a priority.

The Lagos APC chairman also defended President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, citing tax reforms, agricultural development and the role of the Lekki trade zone in Nigeria’s economic activities. Ojelabi urged party members to focus on what he described as the administration’s achievements, arguing that the country’s economic direction and development record should feature prominently in the campaign. He called on supporters to mobilise voters for APC candidates at the federal and state levels.

Ojelabi further urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, calling on them to reach out to friends, neighbours and eligible voters to support the APC in the 2027 general election. He stressed that the party’s electoral success would depend on unity, active participation and sustained campaign efforts across Lagos State.
