Ademola Lookman’s outstanding performance from the previous season earned him a spot in the Serie A Team of the Year. Lookman was the lone player from Atalanta to make the whoscored.com team of the year. Christian Pulisic, a former Chelsea player, Federico Dimarco, Marcus Thuram, and Hakan Calhanoglo of Inter Milan were also included. Lookman made 2024 unforgettable by leading Atalanta to the Coppa Italia and Europa League finals.

Lookman scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final in Atalanta’s 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, which helped the team recover from a 1-0 loss to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final. He was ranked number 14 and the only African to be named in the 2024 Ballon d’Or award. He became the sixth Nigerian to win CAF Player of the Year, which he did at the end of the year.
