The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced plans to reopen its recruitment portal from October 28 to November 13, 2026, for candidates who have reached the advanced stages of its ongoing recruitment exercise.

The Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. A.M. Jibril (retd.), disclosed this during the board’s second meeting of the year, clarifying that the reopening was not for fresh applications but to enable eligible candidates to confirm their recruitment status and obtain codes for mandatory drug screening.

According to Jibril, only candidates who have completed medical screening, oral interviews and other required assessments will be eligible to proceed to the next stage. Qualified applicants are expected to obtain their screening codes through the official recruitment portal and visit designated National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) offices in their respective states for testing.

He said the Federal Government would bear the full cost of the drug screening, warning applicants against paying individuals or organisations claiming to facilitate the process. Candidates who encounter demands for payment were advised to report such incidents to the nearest security agency.

Jibril added that drug screening results would be made available promptly to allow successful candidates to proceed with the remaining recruitment procedures. Evidence that candidates are free from illegal drug use will be compulsory before their appointments can be finalised.

The board secretary further stated that candidates who pass the drug screening and meet all other recruitment requirements would be required to travel to Abuja to collect their appointment letters.

The recruitment exercise is expected to produce 30,000 personnel for four federal paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and Federal Fire Service (FFS).
