Adeoye, who does not have a known residence, is on trial for a single theft offense. However, she entered a not guilty plea to the case. The defendant committed the offense on December 20, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m. in the Mosafejo Area of Badagry, Lagos, according to the prosecution, Insp. Ayodele Adeosun, who testified in court. Adeosun further claimed that Adeoye had stolen N968,200 in cash from her employee, the complainant, Zannu Thomas.
The prosecutor claims that the defendant also diverted N1,174,800—the proceeds of one week’s sales—to her own use. According to the prosecution, the crime violated Section 287 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Laws. The offender was granted N500,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Mr. Patrick Adekomaiya, along with two sureties in an equivalent amount. For additional discussion, Adekomaiya postponed the matter until February 11. (NAN)
