The Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, disclosed this on Sunday, stating that 293 of the suspects had been released on bail after screening, while two others remained in police custody for further investigation and prosecution. Iniedu said the two suspects were being detained pending the conclusion of investigations and the determination of the offences established against them. “295 suspects were arrested during the election, and 293 have been released on bail after screening. So we have two of them in custody for prosecution,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it recorded no arrests during the election. Its spokesman, Afolabi Babawale, said the corps established comprehensive security structures across the state’s local government areas and wards to prevent violence and a breakdown of law and order. He said armed and unarmed personnel were deployed to protect polling units and electoral materials, including three armed patrol teams in each local government area, three unarmed personnel at every polling centre and two armed personnel positioned about 500 metres away from each polling centre.
