ABUJA — The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has threatened to withdraw its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections unless the Department of State Services (DSS) releases the organisation’s National President, Bello Bodejo.

The Fulani socio-cultural group said it would henceforth support only political parties and candidates it believes are committed to the welfare, security and advancement of the Fulani community. The position was made known during a press conference held at Bodejo’s residence in Uke, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation, its Nasarawa State Chairman, Akhajo Abubakar, expressed dissatisfaction with Bodejo’s continued detention, saying the treatment of the group’s leaders would be a major consideration in determining its political support ahead of the 2027 elections.

“We did not vote for APC to arrest our leaders. Our votes this time will go to those who want our progress,” Abubakar said.

Abubakar further claimed that the Fulani community has more than one million eligible voters in Nasarawa State, suggesting that the group could play a significant role in determining the outcome of elections in the state.

The threat followed the reported rearrest of Bodejo by DSS operatives in Abuja on Friday, shortly after he was released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bodejo had reportedly been detained by the EFCC before his lawyers fulfilled the conditions attached to his bail. However, shortly after leaving the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, DSS operatives were said to have taken him into custody again.

The development has heightened concerns within Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, with the organisation warning that the continued detention of its national leader could influence its political calculations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
