Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, has been assassinated at his home in Zintan, in what authorities describe as a coordinated gun attack.
According to local sources, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when four armed men reportedly entered the garden of his residence in the Hamada quarter after disabling the property’s surveillance cameras. Gaddafi was shot at close range during the attack.

At least one of his companions sustained injuries, while the child of another associate, identified as the son of Al-Ajami Al-Ateiri, was also killed.
His political spokesman, Abdullah Othman, confirmed the death, describing Gaddafi as a “mujahid” (fighter). The 444th Combat Brigade has denied any involvement, and no group has so far claimed responsibility for the killing.
The assassination adds a new layer of uncertainty to Libya’s fragile political and security landscape, more than a decade after the collapse of the Gaddafi regime, as rival factions continue to compete for control across the country.
