Tiwa Savage: ‘Upcoming Artistes Are Stressful to Manage’
In a recent interview with Forbes Africa, Tiwa Savage admitted that she lacks the patience to handle the pressures of managing artistes. She highlighted the stress and unpredictability that come with signing and mentoring young musicians.
“Everyone always asks, ‘When are you going to sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign artistes because they are stressful,” she said.
She further explained that she prefers helping young musicians in other ways, which is why she is planning to launch a music school where aspiring singers can train before joining record labels.
“I could just wake up from sleep and my artiste is trending for something else. But I have the gift to help, which is why I’m trying to have a music school where artistes can go and later sign to a label that can actually help,” she added.
