The Group Chief Executive Officer of Oando Plc, Wale Tinubu, has strongly rejected claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu owns, controls or finances the energy company.

Wale Tinubu made the clarification during a video interview shared by TheCable, stressing that Oando was built over many years and originated before President Tinubu entered active politics. He explained that he started the business before other partners subsequently joined the venture.

“It’s a myth that President Bola Tinubu is the owner of the company in any way or form or financier in any way, shape or form of Oando Plc,” Wale said.

He described the allegation as deeply offensive, insisting that President Tinubu had no ownership or financing role in Oando.

“It offends me to levels that are unimaginable because this company (Oando) has been built right from a time when President Tinubu was not in politics,” he added.

Wale Tinubu’s comments come amid continued public discussions about the business interests and political influence associated with President Tinubu. He maintained that the claims linking the President directly to the ownership or financing of Oando are unfounded.

Ojudu Questions APC Campaign Council Composition

Meanwhile, APC chieftain Babafemi Ojudu has criticised the composition of the party’s 108-member Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.

The APC unveiled the council on Saturday as preparations intensified for President Tinubu’s re-election campaign. Reacting to the list, Ojudu expressed reservations about some of the individuals appointed, particularly their previous public records.

He described the council as containing people with widely contrasting backgrounds, including individuals he referred to as former “sinners.”
