With the passage of the appropriation bill, the Rivers State Government will be able to proceed with planned expenditures and the implementation of projects and programmes once Governor Siminalayi Fubara gives his assent.

The budget is expected to provide funding for the state’s various sectors and serve as the principal financial instrument guiding government activities during the fiscal period.

The passage marks a major step towards the implementation of the state government’s spending plans, with attention now shifting to the governor’s assent and subsequent execution of the approved budget.
