Members of the State assembly escorted Speaker Obasa into her new position.

On her behalf and that of the other members of the House, a prayer session was conducted to ensure that the assembly was led smoothly and that the honorable members of the House worked together. The house’s leadership, led by Rt. Hon. Speaker Mojisola Meranda, has postponed today’s plenary to a later time.

On Saturday, former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa spoke out, stating that he will continue to serve as Speaker until due procedure is completed. On January 13, 2025, the majority of House members ousted Mr. Obasa after he was accused of financial embezzlement and wrongdoing.

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has officially moved into the Speaker’s office at the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex.
